Still bloating every single day even though you’re eating “clean”???

What if I told you, it might not be SIBO.

And honestly, Reader, even if it is, jumping straight to antimicrobials without understanding why the overgrowth developed in the first place is exactly why so many women end up right back where they started six months later.

I know that's not what Google told you and it's probably not what your naturopath told you either. But it's what I see over and over again, and it's exactly what happened with one of my recent clients – I'll call her Chloe.

Chloe is in her 60s, incredibly health-conscious, and the kind of woman who does her homework. She'd spent the better part of a year deep in research mode – reading everything she could find and running tests that ultimately just wanted to sell her their expensive supplement protocols.

She was dealing with constant nausea, daily bloating even though she was eating really “clean”, 4-5 loose stools a day, and mysterious itchy, irritated skin that wouldn’t go away. She was sure her symptoms pointed to either a parasite or SIBO.

By the time she found me, she'd already tried probiotics, a strict low FODMAP diet, and a parasite cleanse she'd found on Google. And while she did find some relief for a little while, eventually she hit a wall and knew something was still missing.

Within our very first call it was clear to me that she wasn’t eating enough to support her digestion’s needs.

Months of restrictive eating had left her digestion genuinely depleted because when your body doesn't have enough fuel, digestion is one of the first things it de-prioritizes. The low FODMAP diet that was supposed to manage her bloating and reactions to food, was quietly making things worse.

So instead of handing her another generic protocol and list of even more foods to cut out, we started with information.

We ran a GI MAP stool test to see what was actually going on, then we paired those results with her full health history and symptom patterns to build her personalized healing plan. This part sounds simple, but it gets skipped constantly because we’re frequently told that our lived experiences aren’t as important as the results on the test.

I don’t subscribe to this. Your body has been sending you SOS messages for months, maybe even years, and it takes just a little bit of detective work to figure out exactly what those messages are saying.

A test gives you data. Your history gives it context. Together, they tell a story that no breath test or Google search ever could.

From there, we slowly expanded her diet and gave her body what it had been missing. Within 3 weeks her nausea was gone and she was eating foods she hadn’t touched in months:

And after 2 months:

This is why I use a GI MAP instead of a SIBO breath test.

It gives us a full picture of how your gut is actually operating – what's there, what's missing, what's out of balance – and that's the information you need to achieve results that last longer than a few weeks (whether you have SIBO or not). Because knowing you have an overgrowth without knowing why it developed, keeps you stuck on the symptom treadmill forever and ever… and ever...

The right data (and knowing what to do with that data) changes everything.

Next week I'm dropping a special summer offer that utilizes this exact framework and was made specifically for the woman who is dealing with unexplained bloat, unpredictable bowel movements, suspects she might have SIBO, and doesn’t want to feel self-conscious in her bathing suit all summer long.

If you've just been diagnosed with SIBO (or have been Googling your symptoms at midnight and strongly suspect you have it) this email is for you. Because chances are, Reader, you've already been handed one of these: A prescription for rifaximin. A list of foods to eliminate. A complicated antimicrobial protocol. Maybe even all three. And if you've tried any of it before, you probably already know that these things help a little… maybe. But before you know it the constipation creeps back in,...

Can I ask you something kind of personal, Reader? How much time do you spend thinking about your digestion? If the answer is "more than I'd like to admit," you're not alone. So many women I talk to say that managing their symptoms is basically a full-time job. They’re constantly left wondering why nothing is working. Planning their mornings, their meals, their outfits around what their stomach might decide to do that day. And quietly canceling plans because they just can't risk it. That's not...

Hi Reader, Today we're getting a little more personal because I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on my life and healing journey lately and I’m seeing a lot of similarities in my clients’ journeys, so there's a high chance you’re experiencing some of these things as well. We want to be told our root cause fits into this nice little box, so we can follow a protocol and BOOM it’s fixed (I know I felt that way for a long time). But 99.99999% of the time, it doesn’t work like that, which can be a...
